POWERED BY INVENTIVENESS.
Our new all-electric MINI vehicles combine our traditional creative use of space with future-oriented technology. This is perfectly embodied in the design and positioning of the new battery pack. Arranged in a T-shape, and positioned along the floor, it lowers the centre of gravity and optimises weight distribution for even greater agility and the MINI go-kart handling we know and love. The legacy of innovation lives on. We continue telling the story.
FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AGILITY.
ALL4 ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL.
The new all-electric MINI Countryman’s ALL4 all-wheel drive system gives you terrain-tackling traction and grip on all surfaces by distributing power dynamically between all wheels. And if it detects any loss of traction due to wet or icy surfaces, it shifts power dynamically as needed. So whatever the forecast holds, you stay in control – and in your element.

“It simply isn’t possible to fit more go-kart feeling under a bonnet.”
REGENERATIVE BRAKING.
As well as slowing you down, the all-electric MINI brakes can also help you extend the range. Thanks to regenerative braking, when you lift off the accelerator your speed (kinetic energy) is converted back into electricity to top up the battery. With two different braking modes available, you can adjust the level of regenerative braking to suit your driving style.
GOING RARE EARTH FREE IN THE NEW All-electric MINI Countryman.
We have now completely dispensed with "rare earths" in the drivetrain of the new all-electric MINI Countryman. This was achieved by adopting a new design approach in which magnetic fields replace the conventional magnets, eliminating the need for these materials. This significant development enables the production process to become even more sustainable and helps further relieve the burden on the environment.
THINGS WE'RE OFTEN ASKED.
EVs don’t use engine oil, which means you don’t have to change the oil regularly like you would a petrol-driven vehicle. However, some of the components like brakes and tyres still require lubrication as part of regular, professional vehicle maintenance.
The key raw materials of the high-voltage storage are cobalt, lithium, graphite and nickel. The shell of the high-voltage battery is made of aluminum. MINI (BMW Group) is committed to developing a supply chain that is responsible, sustainable and one that meets our own high ethical and human rights standards. Each nominated supplier must provide information on the implementation of environmental, social and governance standards including respect for human rights and the prohibition of forced labour. We work closely with key raw material suppliers to ensure that all materials are responsibly sourced both to protect and enhance the environment, and to ensure the safety and well-being of the employees at any point along the supply chain. We also continue to streamline logistics operations to reduce impacts from transporting components to our plants
Yes. The same logic and fee structure applies to both Tesla and non-Tesla EVs to help ensure stalls are open for everyone to charge.
The materials selected and manufacturing processes employed are both precisely matched to the requirements of each specific component in order to increase body rigidity and crash safety while keeping weight as low as possible. The cutting-edge mix of materials used for the bodyshell includes high-performance thermoplastics, along with high-strength steels and aluminum. With the targeted use of different materials, the innovative design of the supporting structures and the wide array of production techniques used in the process, our all-electric MINIs showcase our technological expertise in the field of intelligent lightweight design.
